You should be able to work use EAD...your husband can still work on H1. First u need to apply for SSN to work.

My husband is on H1 and i am on H4. We recently got our EADs. What I want to know is, can i start working right away with my EAD while my husband works on H1 or are there any rules like my husband also needs should change his status from H1 to EAD so that I may use my EAD card?

I got green card through marriage. My wife is a US citizen and I came here legally and was in legal status(F-1) before getting married. We got married in August 2005. I applied for green card following year and finally got my card approved March 2008. I got a conditional residence which expires March 2010. I did all paperwork myself. My wife recomend me for an attorney for removal of condition. Attorney tells me that USCIS screwed up and sent me a conditonal residence card as under,"Immigration Marriage Fraud Amendments Act of 1986 (IMFA) on November 6, 1986. INA � 216, 8 USC � 1186a","Under IMFA, an �alien spouse� who obtained the status of an alien lawfully admitted for permanent residence by virtue of a marriage contracted less than 24 months before the date of admission is considered to have obtained such status on a conditional basis."
Now he wants me to send the green card back to USCIS as at the time of approval of my petition my marriage had passed more than two years!
I am confused. I need a second opinion.

My friends h1b got rejected 2years back , he once again applied for new one in this fin year from diffrent company , does old petion will effect the new one, as he not shown th eold one while filing the new one

Hi,
I am on H-1B with a company and have been through my 4years of H-1. Now they are saying that they might not be able to apply for my PR before the start of my 6th year of H-1 and are offering me the following option: Need to leave US and go back to India or any other country, will be paid US salary and then after one year will be brought back on a L-1A visa. Now my question is can they pay in US dollars while i am outside US and still be able to come back on L-1A visa? or do i need to change into local payroll?

I recently received my Greencard. Will be getting married in a few months and wanted to find out the options available to sponsor my fiance. Fiance is a british citizen, does that help in any way? Also she is a qualified Doctor in the UK and is planning on taking USMLE part 1 & 2 prior to the wedding. Is it prudent to have her move to the US on an H1B instead?

I believe working on 1099 is allowed when you have the full time work on H1B going.
There are different types of 1099. 1099-Misc is not allowed. 1099-Int , 1099-G are the examples of allowed 1099s

Can someone please tell me on how to reach the customer service personal? What are the options to press after 1-800-375-5283.
I received a Biometric Apt. through my attorney a month back and I appeared for the apt. The time was coincided with my move so it went to attorney and didnt come to my address.
Now I received another notice dated one month later than the first one. So I want to talk to them and findout if it necessary to appear again.

I appeared for h1b stamping at new Delhi us embassy. VO kept my passport and forms for admin processing. VO told me it may take 2-4 weeks. they didn't give me any slips ( pink/yellow/green). I am not sure what kind of processing they wanted to do in my case

I'm a little confused about my options in starting my H1 extension process and applying for my wife's H4 application.
Here is my current status :
6 yr H1-B period is ending on Dec 22, 2009. I'm getting married in India in October and will apply for my wife's H4 immediately after. Here are my questions :
1. Will there be any problem with my wife's H4 application if there are just 2 months of validity left on my H1 visa?
2. I could potentially start my H1 extension process now. I'm eligible for a 3 year extension since the Priority date of Jan 3, 2006, on my EB2 application is not current. If I was to start my extension process now, my approval may not happen before October and my lawyer there may be some problems if I travel outside the country on a pending H1 application. Should I apply for my H1 extension now or after I come back to the US in November?
3. If I was to apply for H1 extension in Nov and don't get an approval by the time of my current H1 expiry in December, will I be out of status?
