My friend EB2 is all ONE category. Please see the OR in that sentence.
to qualified immigrants who are members of the professions holding advanced degrees or their equivalent or who because of their exceptional ability in the sciences, arts, or business, will substantially benefit prospectively the national economy, cultural or educational interests, or welfare of the United States, an d whose services in the sciences, arts, professions, or business are sought by an employer in the United States.
Its sad but its going to apply for all EB2 applicants.

We need to do some thing about it so that they dont repeat the same mistake again . Lets attach a message or real calculators along with flowers and start campign ..atleast we get the attention like we did in July 07
I know we are too scared of doing any thing because they have our applications to process ...I think this is the time to step up again ...
even though I m EB2 2006 applicant , I was so frustated to see 2006 approvals , how can they do that ? Why they move to 2006 in first place raise hopes and dash them in less than weeks ...

THIS IS VALID ONLY IF THE CIR BILL BECOMES A LAW IN ITS CURRENT FORM....
From what I know (largely due to the posts on these forums), if your I-140 was not filed by May 15th 2007, you will have to reapply for your GC in the new system.
LC or I-485 is not relevant here. The cutoff date is determined by your I-140 filing date.
Also, between May 15th 2007 and October 1st 2008 (likely), no new I-140s can be applied. Thus, it would make no sense to apply for a LC either. USCIS will only process backlogged I-485 cases and issue green cards.
Finally, it is really unfair for them to set this cutoff date retroactively. But it is legal for them to do this. Can't sue them for it.

Everyone getting receipt notices, and not coming to the rally, (not coming to the rally -most on tracker threads), please at least consider contributing to the rally once you get your notice or FP done or get EAD!. The rally cost is huge and we can do much more if people can contribute generously.
We helped you get to the stage so that everyone can file I485s. It pains us in the core team see how our members who used to tell us all the time to at least allow them to file I485 and then they will wholeheartedly take part and support IV have turned their backs on us now. With our work and victory in Visa bulletin fiasco, we even answered people who used to ask us for our achievements before they could contribute.

Forget about LIFO or FIFO, this year EB2 won't be getting enough visa's from spill-over. They would be giving majority of spill-over to EB3-ROW/I/C and EB2 would be getting very small fraction. And how's that is possible for that they would play around the law ( by making EB2 current).

As far as I remember, I (from California) was able to renew the license by mail. I did not have to go to DMV. So, these issues about I-797/I-94 needed for DL, are they coming up during a new DL or during renewal of license?
Howz DL procedure in CA for 485 guys? I do not have H1B any my I-94 expired long time back. I have out of state licensce that expires in 2011 only. If I want to take CA DL, will it be a easy process? For how many years they give DL for 485 guys?

That comment was made for Family Visas, since everyone who applies on Family Visa, might not eventually get it. I read here that King said that everyon on EAD and AP is getting a free ride even thought here green card might get rejected. What does he mean by that. I tahught every process goes thorugha security check. such as I 140, H1b, AP and even EAD.

These two could be the real reasons why they changed the dates to 2006-June-01.
1. USCIS want to utilize all available EB2 and EB1-Balance GC numbers before 2008-0ct-01. So, they moved the EB2 dates in such a way that there is enough room for obtaining approvable and valid EB2 applications.
2. They could just move the dates to somewhere at the end of 2005 instead of 2006-June to achieve the same result. But, they did this specifically to include some relief to EB2 CHINA folks as well. EB2 China backlog starts from the beginning of 2006.
3. This reason is from my imagination: USCIS is a govt organization..You know. I heard stories that corruption is there everywhere in a GOVT system. Some influential applicant needs to get the benefit and they moved the dates to June-2006. :)) HEY THIS IS NOT TRUE :)
Oh by the way, this won't last long. The month September could see an "UNAVAILABLE" EB2 or "2004-APRIL" EB2.
My heart jumps with joy, but my brain still caution the heart to wait for the official visa bulletin at DOS/USCIS website. USCIS has a trend of "correcting" the visa bulletin. Nevertheless, if the dates are really what they are published at Mumbai site, its a time for us to be happy.

Anyone whose priority date is current, please don't just move forward with your joy, and continue to support IV and our initiatives to help legal immigrants. We have suffered so much because the folks who came prior to us never bothered to support legal immigration, once they got their their GC. Please remember that after GC/Citizenship, your status in this nation depends on how active you are socially/politically.

It is not a big deal dude...if not for this immigration system, we could be making even more..think about $80-$100/hr if you are an independent contractor. This a minimum for a decent contract with vendor directly.
And if you have ~100-200K for investments, with some experience and any luck..you could be making another 100K out of it from trading and active investing in other areas. That comes to ~250-300K minimum. There are no bounds when life is free and in this great country. Unfortunately, things have turned discriminative and our potentials are being restricted(atleast for non-EAD guys) and you have to be prepared for getting outright kicked out of this country.

Since on 2nd July they said they will reject the AOS application, what if they would have done some rejection during that time, and by the time July filers get their application back, it is after 17th of August. In that circumstance, can you send the AOS application back arguing USCIS's mistake and ask them to take it back after 08/17 and would they take it back politely or reject it again.

1. The days of an immigrant waiting to buy a house until he gets his GC have gone. These days H1Bs r buying homes left and right. More than settling, they look at it as a business prospect. I know atleast 5 guys who r still waiting in the wings who've bought homes. Look, u know u r gonna wait until GC and u know u will get ur GC...so why not buy a house? There may be a few who'd be pessimistic about their GC applications and wud think twice b4 making a huge investment and AFAIK, that percentage is very less.
LOL, there is another thread �buying a house when 485 processing is pending�. Post the above over there and you will see that you would have stirred a hornet�s nest. People will jump on you.

It is not a good idea to buy property in India now ( at high prices )
You can see a 30 to 40% decline in prices in coming months/ years.
Wait and buy.
As far as loan , go with SBI or LIC home loans - slow in processing , but you can save lot .
